CHECK THE WORDING

## Compounded, but called approved?

FDA is short for Food and Drug Administration. Its work includes reviewing U.S. medicines.

At the September 2026 check, saying a compounded drug had FDA approval was false: these drugs had no such approval.

Having a business or drug listed with FDA was also not approval of that business or its medicines.

Ask what the exact approval claim refers to.

## Is a low price enough to judge it?

No. FDA flags prices that sound unrealistically low. Legally sold medicines can still have low prices.

Check the prescription, pharmacy name and licence as well as the price.

## No prescription required?

Federal law was broken when a prescription medicine was supplied without a valid prescription, at the September 2026 check.

Ask who evaluates you and who issues the prescription. A ready-to-pay screen is not the answer.

## Who answers after delivery?

Among FDA’s online-care warnings checked in September 2026 were services that lacked a licensed doctor to handle questions once the medicine had arrived.

Ask for the follow-up route and the dispensing pharmacy’s name before paying.

A name on a label can be checked; FDA has found labels naming nonexistent pharmacies.

## Does appearing in an ad mean it was checked?

The Federal Trade Commission says no government agency approves advertisements before publication.

Ask for evidence for the exact claim. A confident headline is still a headline.
