## There is no all-peptide storage rule.

Storage rules depend on the exact product.

Cold storage is required for some peptide medicines. Room-temperature storage is allowed for others.

Ask the pharmacy for the storage instructions for the exact medicine supplied.

FDA is short for Food and Drug Administration. Its work includes reviewing medicines.

In September 2026, its advice was to avoid semaglutide or tirzepatide injections that arrived warm or without enough cooling.

Ask the pharmacy how it handles a delivery that fails those instructions.

## What does sterile mean?

Sterile

Free of living germs.

Compounded means mixed or prepared to order.

FDA says a poorly compounded medicine may contain germs or too much or too little of its working ingredient.

Ask who prepared it and how questions about the product are handled.

## What if the instructions are hard to follow?

By September 2026, FDA had reports of measuring errors with made-to-order semaglutide injections.

Some reports described people needing hospital care.

These were reports, not proof that every preparation causes harm.
